The Little family decided to move to a small town to raise their children. Soon after they are settled, deaths and murders start occurring throughout the town. The residents are acting weird and whether the Little's believe it or not, something evil has awakened. The book started off a little slow and off-putting with some religious aspects and a quite irritating Kate Little. The two main characters are struggling through a tragedy that happened and they are emotionally unavailable at times and I wondered how they even stayed together. The pace picked up, maybe a little too much, as the body counted racked up into the teens and we still weren't getting the picture of what was really going. The book did have a ending that wrapped up neatly though. I might try another Newman novel, just not one that is so dated (80's).
