Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, #11)

It cuts quickly.
Bleeds so slow, seep.
An ache so deep.
You can't reach.
Broken and untenable.
A tightness in the chest.
Hard to breathe.
No rest.
A pounding in the ears.
Finding out your worst fear.
You suffer it alone.
It follows you.
Be gone.
You can't understand, equate.
Do you love or do you hate?
You carry it.
A sad song.
You suffer it.
Lifelong.
Caring not if it's right or wrong.
Searching for peace.
It's hard to find.
You need it.
To be at ease.
To keep a little sanity.
He and she could just be.
Like a traitor you chose to flee.
As I continue to bleed so slow, seep.
Maybe now I can weep, sleep.
Now that peace has found me.

I was pleasantly surprised to have like this read after Ms. Adrian decided to fast-forward into the future. It was a tricky thing to do, but it worked out in her favor. New characters, new world, new rules. I don't understand why it's still a Breed Read, when it reads like a spin-off (former characters are just talked about or guests who have no real involvement in action or story itself)
Some other authors (Hamilton, J.R) need to think about doing this also and start out fresh. (Did I mention Hamilton?)
Drago's is defeated so we don't have to hear anymore about him. Thank goodness!
Mira's story was great all except for the reasoning behind her beau, Kellan, leaving her. Okay, to be fair, it was explained in the end, by not soon enough for me to forgive him before they decided to have make-up sex.
The ending was great and shows us that we will be seeing more of these sexier Breeds and that the stakes just got a whole hell of a lot higher.
Recommended Read.
