Blade Itself (First Law 1)

The Blade Itself - Joe Abercrombie 2.75 stars
This read was not entirely fantasy. It dithered here and there with bouts of historical surroundings and current day speech. This read was definitely hyped up and failed to reach the epic-ness of some fantasy. The biggest problem I had with the book was the timeline; there really wasn't one. We jumped from character to character to different place but with no actual timeline that could link such occurrences. I also expected more action, more rumble and tumble. I will say that what got me through the book was potential. The potential positions that the characters; specifically Logan, Ferro, and Bayaz will have and their journey there. I have the trilogy so I'll most likely continue. A little better than "Okay."
