Black Dust Mambo

Black Dust Mambo - Adrian Phoenix 3 Stars***

I used to buy books based on the length. To see a 300 to 400 page book was pure delight. I looked at it like; the more words there were to read would make my enjoyment last that much longer. Obviously, I've got problems. And obviously some authors must have thought the same thing because I have noticed more inward dialogue and the bad habit of "talking" things out blow by blow, instead of letting the reader come to their own conclusions.

I ate up the beginning of the book. From the twang of the characters' accents to the newness of the idea of hoodoo. It fell short in the middle and picked back up again towards the end. There are great things happening in this read so I would recommend it to fantasy lovers. By the way, there is no romance and a to-be-continued scenario.
