Outlander

Outlander - Diana Gabaldon I ask thee
to love me.
I ask thee
to need me.
I ask thee
to obey me.

I need you
to hold me.
I need you
to want me.
I need you
to love me.

May only truth pass between us.
And in truth shall our love last.

(I don't like this poem. Will think of something later)

With my "love" glasses on this would have been a 5 star read. Taking them off--not as rosy as the hype has led me to believe unless, you like looooooong winded characters, and overly descriptiveness--period. This was a laborious ((esp. of a task, process, or journey) Requiring considerable effort and time.) read for me. Shoot! For anyone for that matter.

This story is of a woman who was transported in time 200 years into the past where she struggles with herself and this new-found place. She is met by a villain who quickly takes and interest in her and she escapes and runs into the hands of a scottish clan. From there trouble and mayhem ensues. Somewhere along the line shes also falls in love, but in another time she is already married.

I like it. There are better historical romances out there, but there are few that can make you feel as though you're on a journey with them and love them as if they're real.
