A few things rang "false" to me (a wisp of a woman does kung-fu on a powerful mage who does nothing but mutter a few rude words after "eating dirt"). The lead/only female seemed to "take over/boss around/preach to" all the males, which was quite irritating.
The brothers, the world building, and the magic aspects are great and I already own the rest of the series so I will be continuing it...for now.
