This read reminded me of The Fog. People are trapped in a grocery store while deformed beings are banging on the glass to be let in. The story then morphed into its own rather un-zombie approach and kicked this read up a notch as the group tried to survive once they got out of there. For some reason I cracked up when they were duct-taping themselves and thought them rather witty for thinking up such a smart idea. The 'homeboy' got on my nerves in the stereotypical fashion he was written in. More of the characters were cardboard cut-outs in a way, but it was the story itself that had me reading until the somewhat unspectacular end. Still, this was an entertaining read.
