I will say that Heidi's writing is really great. Her unique flow could easily blend to whatever genre she chose to write. However this novel was just...too much, too melancholy, too "deep" for my liking. I actually put it on the back-burner for a minute. Even though Laur and Ed were growing and loving together they also brought a certain sadness along, like a dark cloud hovering over even their most joyous moments, tainting them, which obscured my view of this romance.
